Cooper Clegg makes third of workforce redundant
Administrators handling Cooper Clegg have announced 80 of its 230 staff are to be made redundant as the company continues its search for a buyer.
Administrator Peter Kubik of UHY Hacker Young said that 70 jobs from "the print floor" would go, along with around 10 administrative positions.
He claimed there are several parties that have expressed an interest in the business and said that the current number of redundancies is "probably it".
"We would expect to have identified the serious players by mid January and have done a deal by the end of January, if we're going to find someone," he said.
Cooper Clegg went into administration just weeks after its buyout by a management team led by John Wood and backed by the new owners of Wyndeham Press Group, following the loss of a major contract with magazine publisher Bauer.
