Alwan and Enfocus team to ease ISO 12647 compliance
Colour standardisation software specialist Alwan Color Expertise has teamed up with Enfocus to launch PDF Standardizer, a new software package that extends pre-flighting and correction to include colour.
PDF Standardizer produces files that comply with the ISO 12647 colour standard in PDF/X format, which itself is covered by ISO 15930 to ensure files are printable and will pass seamlessly through ripping and onto plate.
The product combines Alwan's CMYK Optimizer technology with Enfocus' PitStop using Enfocus' Switch tool to automate the workflow and present a seamless single interface.
"Alwan has always been about helping the print industry adopt standards," said Alwan president Elie Khoury. "In order for standards to be adopted, they have to be easy to use and affordable. CMYK Optimizer provides cost-effective colour standardisation, but our clients today are big printers and big publishers who have the budgets; we want to get this technology to every part of the market to enable anyone to adopt standards."
