Ratcliff & Roper buy fifth Heidelberg as health sector work increases
Ratcliff & Roper has invested in its fifth Heidelberg Printmaster QM46-2 in as many years to handle the growing level of work it carries out for the UK health service.
The new two-colour press has "considerably" boosted capacity at the business, which has sites in Worksop and Nottingham and is pushing towards the £2m turnover mark in the next year.
The 37-staff company will task the Printmaster with some of the 450 jobs it carries out in an average month for its health service clients.
It runs alongside two Heidelberg Speedmasters, a five-colour SM 74-5+L and a two-colour SM 74-2 producing stationery such as brochures, forms and booklets.
Kevin White, managing director of Ratcliff & Roper, said the Printmaster was "the best in class" and the most cost effective "for the 100 to 5,000 print work that we typically run."
He added: "Our health service contracts make up around 40% of our work. The new press has considerably boosted capacity and will help us stay ahead of the game."
