Heidelberg Re-aligns Postpress Division
HEILDELBERG, GERMANY—07/31/08—In the course of the re-alignment of the Management Board responsibilities, the Postpress division of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), supervised by Chief Technology Officer Stephan Plenz, will be newly arranged.
In the future, Thomas Krischke (46) will be responsible for Postpress Commercial with the Ludwigsburg, Leipzig, Padua and Sidney sites. The managerial responsibilities of the different sites stay unchanged.
Dr. Friedrich Denkhaus (52) has requested to release him from his duties as Head of the Postpress division. Dr. Denkhaus will leave the company by mutual agreement.
Dr. Denkhaus has been responsible for several executive functions at Heidelberg since 1991, from 1999 to 2005 as site manager in Amstetten. Since the beginning of 2005, Dr. Denkhaus has been Head of the Postpress division.
Stephan Plenz, Member of the Management Board since July 1, 2008, and responsible for Postpress, would like to thank Friedrich Denkhaus for his commitment and wishes him every success with his career in the future.
With about 2,000 employees at seven sites (among others one each in the USA, China and Slovakia) the Postpress division develops and manufactures products for further development in the fields of commercial and packaging print. Annual sales of the previous fiscal year 2007/2008 amounted to 427 million Euro, which accounts for 11.6 percent of Heidelberg’s total revenue.
On the occasion of drupa 2008 the Postpress division launched various innovation, e.g. the new Stahlfolder KH 82 with automatic cross-fold unit, the Diana X 115 folder gluer, the Dymatrix 106 Pro CSB die cutter and additional options for the adhesive binder Eurobind 4000. The recently introduced Prinect Postpress Manager is the first system that allows full-service print shops to integrate finishing machines fully into their workflow.
