Morgana quadruples the speed of its latest DigiFold creaser-folder

Morgana Systems has boosted its digital finishing offering with new kit that is almost four times quicker than its predecessor.

DigiFold 5000P creaser-folder launches at Drupa and runs at 5,000 creases an hour on A4 stock.

UK sales manager John Clason said: "Speed remains constant irrespective of the number of creases being put on a sheet. It will crease a sheet nine times at the same speed it would take for a single crease on the earlier model.

"Digital runs are getting longer and more speed was needed. It's also good for heavily printed litho material and will increase our reach."

The £22,000 kit takes a larger sheet size of 700x358mm, and includes DynaCrease technology, which creases to an accuracy of 0.1mm without stopping the sheets.

The DigiFold works as a stand-alone creaser or perforator on stocks of up to 400gsm. It was JDF-ready to incorporate finishing in automated workflow processes.

According to managing director Quen Baum, demand for variable data increased the emphasis on a fast, easy set-up of the latest machine.
