Last chance to enter HP Indigo Worldwide Progressive Print competition
-->
Entries for the 2008 HP Indigo Progressive Print Competition close this Friday, April 25, with the 100 or so Australian HP indigo users urged to get the entries in before the deadline date passes.
The competition will showcase the high-end colour and image quality capabilities of its industry-leading HP Indigo commercial presses and liquid HP ElectroInk. The contest is open to all HP Indigo commercial press users and will include best-of-category prizes for marketing collateral, photo specialty, direct marketing and publishing applications, as well as an other category for special, innovative and inspirational entries.
First, second, and third-prize winners in each category will be announced at HP's Gala Dinner for commercial customers at drupa on June 3, and many contest entries will be on display in HP's booth in Hall 8a of the Messe Düsseldorf in Germany.
Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager, Indigo division, HP says, "We are excited about this global contest because it presents an opportunity to highlight how customers everywhere are successfully leveraging the look and feel of offset available with HP Indigo, which is a leading print technology in many nations that are rapidly adopting digital, and visitors to our drupa stand will be able to see why when they view the entries."
Expected contest submissions include materials printed on a wide range of papers, as well as specialty substrates, all of which is possible because of HP Indigo digital presses' compatibility with the industry's widest range of certified media. In addition, expected entries will reflect HP Indigo presses' ability to offer the highest quality in digital printing, including the use of spot-coating effects with Digital Matte Ink, as well as HP DreamColor capabilities such as Pantone-licensed spot colours with HP IndiChrome off-press and process printing in up to six colours with HP IndiChrome on-press.
Entrants in the photo specialty category will have an opportunity to highlight special photo capabilities using the HP SmartStream Photo Enhancement Print Server for six-colour process imaging with Light Cyan and Light Magenta HP ElectroInks. In addition to being judged on print quality, entries in the direct marketing category should highlight the excellent rate-of-response metrics available with digital printing.
HP Indigo customers interested in entering the contest can download entry materials from the "My HP Indigo" online customer portal. There is no fee for entry.
