Colourstream Litho invests in HP press for burgeoning digital arm
Colourstream Litho has inst-alled an HP Indigo 5500 to continue expansion of its digital print services, and has said its quality is indistinguishable from traditional litho printers in book printing.
The purchase complements the firm’s two 10-colour lithographic presses, and is aimed at meeting demand for shorter turnaround times within its business card printing services.
“Digital is becoming more important, and this has enabled us to offer services to attract new customers,” said John Greene, managing director of Colourstream.
He added business card production was a key growth area for the firm, and the purchase enabled it to offer clients shorter run lengths to complement the one-stop shop business card service, which includes packaging.
The 5500 can print 4,000 four-colour 8.5x11.5in images per hour. The HP ElectroInk liquid ink technology and special and spot colour capabilities ensure high-quality print.
Greene said: “The quality is outstanding. It is impossible to tell the difference between books printed on our new press or those produced lithographically.”
